STEĆCI
Stećci lie scattered across Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the border parts of Croatia, Montenegro and Serbia, although almost exclusively following the borders of the medieval Bosnian Kingdom. An estimated 60,000 or 85.92% are found within the borders of modern Bosnia and Herzegovina and the rest of 10,000 are found in what are today Croatia (5,000 or 6.41%), Serbia (2,000 or 3.27%), and Montenegro (3,000 or 4.4%).

Stećci are usually grouped and those areas are called necropolises. The most famous necropolis is Radimlja near Stolac. By number of stećci, their diversity and relatively high artistic quality of made, rich relief carvings and symbols, necropolis Radimlja is one of the most valuable too. Necropolises are usually located on hills overlooking the surrounding country-side where those who truly loved this country with their hearts and souls trace their roots.
